Chase 5/24 Rule

Chase Ink Business Card - 5X Ultimate Rewards for office supply stores

Getting Approved For Chase Credit Cards Are Getting More Difficult

Chase 5/24 Rule is in place and makes it more difficult for miles lover like us.  What does that mean?  The rule says that those with five new credit cards within the past 24 months will not approved for a new Chase credit card application.  In the old day, they might allow you to lower the credit limit of your existing Chase card to get the new Chase card approved.  This will not work anymore.

Chase Ultimate Rewards

With United Airlines devaluation many years ago and American Airlines devaluation in March this year, I prefer to have the points in Chase Ultimate Rewards, Citi ThankYou Points, Amex Membership Rewards, and British Airways Avios.

There are a lot of opportunities to earn Chase Ultimate Rewards, include Chase Freedom, Chase Sapphire, Chase Ink Plus, and Chase Ink Cash.  By setting 5/24, Chase would like you to have them as their primary credit card company if you like the flexibility in Ultimate Rewards program.

Currently Citi stops offering any award bonus for new Citi ThankYou card.  With Amex award bonus is only once in a life time, Chase cards are the best bet to earn more miles.  Just make sure you understand the rule and play with the game.
