Only ThankYou points at Citi ThankYou Premier and Citi ThankYou Prestige can transfer to participate partner airlines, not ThankYou points earn from bank accounts and Citi ThankYou Preferred card.

I will NOT apply for Citi ThankYou Premier for 40,000 bonus, let’s wait until it has 50,000 bonus or more offer.

Although Citi ThankYou Prestige has $450 annual fee, you can apply my strategy on my Chase Ritz Carlton card, then you can save your annual fee and enjoy all the benefits on the card.

ThankYou Partner Airlines – Singapore Airlines

After devaluation of American AAdvantage, I would like to use Singapore Airlines instead because it requires lesser miles to redeem a First Class award ticket.  You can transfer points to KrisFlyer from Citi ThankYou points, Chase Ultimate Rewards, and Amex Membership Rewards.

Usually it takes approx. 48 hours for ThankYou points to transfer to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer.  Singapore Airlines is one of the airlines that allows waitlist on award ticket as long as you have available KrisFlyer on the account.  In addition, if you book your award ticket online, you can save 15% of KrisFlyer award.

For example, saver first class award ticket from San Francisco to Hong Kong requires 85,000 KrisFlyer, with 15% discount online, you only need 70,125 KrisFlyer to redeem the saver first class award ticket.

Singapore Airlines Waitlist

Just assisted a best friend to clear his waiting list on Singapore Airlines First Class award seat which I did the same for my mother-in-law last year to clear her award seat as well.  How?

After you made the waitlist reservation on Singapore Airlines online, call the customer service Centre to ask them to send a request to their headquarter to request clearing of the waitlist.  If your going and returning flights are in 2 separate reservations, make sure you ask them to cross references both reservations.  When the headquarter review the waitlists, they will try to work on both reservations at the same time.  I cannot guarantee it works all the time as the representative replied they will try their best, but it works both times.

When you call the customer service Centre, please prepare that you have at least 45-60 minutes to hold on the phone.
